(Josephine Buck) Poetry: I am the water…

 I am the water.

I can be gentle,

but strong, because fire can’t hurt me
I am the water.
I could fall, but once I hit bottom I begin to rise.
I am the water.
I could be stilled

by a wall, but I only find another way to move.
I am the water.
I may be transparent, but wherever I am, there is no empty space.
I am the water.
Look at me and I will show you something beautiful.

I am the water.
I have power. You will see once you try and stop my free movement.
I am the water.
I benefit all.
I am needed.
I have a purpose for being.
I am the water.
I can be cold, and I can be shallow
But all the beauty is also found because I can be warm and deep.
I am the water.
I am unchanging.
You always know it’s me.
I will always show you what I am capable of.
I’m here for you.
I am the water.
